NOTES
- When you place your order please choose the type of refrigerant oil you wish to use in your system. We can provide you either Ester or PAG . Here is how you can determine which is the best option of oil to choose. If you are converting from R12 over to R134a, then we suggest you pick Ester oil. If your car has already been converted to R134a then the type of oil could be either Ester or PAG. If the conversion procedure was well documented then there should be a “blue” colored R134a refrigerant sticker somewhere in the engine compartment noting the type of oil. Or, you can research the past service work orders or invoices which might note the type of oil, or you could contact the previous owner or service facility who did the work and ask them. If you have made all the efforts to research the oil question and you are still unsure as to what refrigerant oil you should choose, please contact us and we will assist you. We suggest that if the system has Ester or PAG that you continue to use that same type of oil and not mix the two.
- On your existing original evaporator to compressor hose you will need to cut off the fitting that connects to the compressor, and you will be inserting into this hose our special fitting that has a low side R134a service port, and you will be securing the fitting with a clamp we supply (see picture above on this page) If you intend to revert back to the original factory Nippondenso compressor for any reason you would need to replace your modified evaporator to compressor hose with a complete new original style hose assembly.
- The Kuehl compressor has 8 mounting ears. You will be attaching 2 brackets included in the hardware kit to 4 of the mounting ears. One of the remaining mounting ears is generally adjacent to the front sway bar (depending upon your model year) and at times could touch the sway bar. You will need to cut off this mounting ear for clearance (see picture above on this page). We do not pre-cut the mounting ear because we use this compressor in other applications. Once a mounting ear has been cut or modified we do not accept returns for these compressor kits.
